If you read this morning's post (Rishi's Kitchen Garden) you will know that in our garden we have been growing some cauliflower (among much other fruit and veg). Here is a Kashmiri style cauliflower Gobi recipe that I will be using when I get some big Cauliflowers!
Ingredients
1 small Cauliflower
2tbsp Vegetable oil
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp ginger powder
1 tsp fennel powder
1/4 tsp turmeric
1 tsp chilli powder
salt to taste
pinch of asafoetida
2 cloves
1/2 tsp garam masala
2 cups of water
Step One
First of all, cut the cauliflower into small florets. Heat the oil in a pan. When the oil is hot add the cloves and asafoetida, then stir on medium heat.
Step Two
Add the florets and keep on frying until golden.
Step Three
Add the water and the rest of the ingredients. Boil until florets are soft and tender. Then enjoy with some Basmati rice.
